Its been 15 days!

I have been in CA now for a total of 15 days, and already have finished two books which in turn means I have read 822 pages in 15 days! I'm pretty impressed with myself! The last book that I recall reading from start to finish and actually comprehending was Brown Bear Brown Bear.. So it seems I have come a long way. To be honest I actually have started to enjoy reading, maybe this is a forced enjoyment just because I have so much time on my hands. Who knows! But the point of this blog is to get some advice on some good books that you may feel like i would enjoy! I like real life books, although on occasion I have been spotted by my spouse living in my own world reading Twilight, which is based on vampires and werewolves! So I think I can get into about anything! For the last two books I have read I just have found ones that are recommended by New York Times as being best sellers! I have enjoyed the last two but both had risky parts that I had to skip over. Books don't have ratings that I am aware of so I would prefer getting a book that I don't have to edit for myself! So let me know if you have any rec commendations! I have three more months left, and at the rate I am going I could probably finish 8 more books! Well I am off to Borders!
p.s. sorry for the lack of pictures!

Please, please read To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. It's so good -- a total page turner.

I actually really liked The Time Traveler's Wife, too (by Audrey Niffenegger). I know -- it sounds sci fi, but it's actually not. It's a really interesting modern day romance. And it was recommended to me by Lauren, so that should buy me some street cred. And, if that's not enough, it's being made into a movie even as we speak -- I think it's due out in December of this year (starring Rachel McAdams from the Notebook). The only downside is that it's long (546 pages) -- but the way you're cruising through books, you should be done in like a week.

One word for my book recommendation "Outrageous" the biography of Charles Barkeley. It's the last non-church book I've read that I can remember. It CHANGED MY LIFE a total PAGE TURNER. I haven't read since but this one was a good one to start my fast with.

I love Brown Bear, Brown Bear too!!:) That's a classic. One of my favorites is "These is My Words." Trust me. You'll love it. "I give you 5 dolla off if you trust me!" (Sorry flashback to my hairdresser). Unfortunately I can't remember the author. It's a female. It's a story of this awesome lady from the early 1900's. Each chapter leaves you dying to know what happens in the next chapter. It looks really long, but you'll fly through it.

Also, "Letters for Emily" by Cameron Wright. He's a BYU grad. That was a cute one I stole from my sister in law, Jacqui. Still need to return that one.

Another one was "Raising Adam." That's by the ex-LDS lady that works for Opera now. Once again, can't remember her name. The book is good. If only my memory wasn't crap!!

Hope that's enough to get you started. I haven't read a whole lot since Cooper besides children's lit.

It's "Expecting Adam," and the author is Martha Beck. It's good.

But if you've never read "Les Miserables" (Victor Hugo) or "To Kill a Mockingbird" (Harper Lee), you have to start there.

Or you can go with "Outrageous." Also a classic.

My friend just gave me "this is my words", she also said is was great. I'm not certain but I think To Kill a Mockingbird has a guy who pets a dog and woman to death...

I enjoy any nicholas sparks...good, emotional, romantic

jared says harry potter

That's "Of Mice and Men." Kristi, I promise there are no petting deaths in To Kill a Mockingbird (it's just a clever name).

I love how Wen and I give these suggestions that Paul and Dana have to correct! Can you tell who the big readers in the family are!

'These is my Words' is great- by nancy turner. My #1 favorite is the last year! Shannon Hale has a lot of good books- easy reads, but more fulfilling than Twilight :). I would start with 'Goose Girl." Also, 'Tending Roses" is great....

Glad you finally left a comment after stacking my blog.... :). Why didn't you say something earlier? Crazy girl! Sure wish I was at the pool with ya- sounds just about perfect!
